Well I did my big "Hollywood" catering gig on Saturday.
It was a 40th birthday party
for a sound engineer (Matt Dubin) who works on a bunch of movies, commercials,
and TV shows. I got hooked up with this gig through Scott Ian of Anthrax.
Matt had tried my BBQ at Scott Ian's Thanksgiving party, and he specifically
wanted my food for his 40th.
His wife Robin really liked my pig banner, and made menus with the logo,
and made a birthday banner with the logo as well.
It was held at the old Warner Brothers Movie Studio lot, and was on the 7th floor (top level) of the parking structure. A very cool location.
There were quite a few "actors" there, , but I didn’t know any of their names, but could recognize their faces. Keannu Reeves was there, and he LOVED my BBQ ate lots of Baby Back Ribs, and Brisket. He was super cool, hung out with us for like half an hour, asked me all about my cooking and wants me to cook his big summer party he has for his family (fingers crossed)
I did Baby Backs, Pulled Pork, and Brisket (people were wanting my now famous brisket) and I partnered up with Harry Soo (Slap Yo Daddy BBQ) to cook all the sides: beans, BBQ Spaghetti, Coleslaw, and cornbread. Harry is a culinary genius, and I knew the two of us would be ultimate BBQ catering team out there.
Everyone loved the food, like more than I have ever heard before. It was a great event, everyone loved the Meat is Murder...Tasty Tasty Murder stickers, they all loved the sauce, loved the food, loved everything. I even had a few vegetarians eat the BBQ and loved it.
One lady and her husband called me the 4 Seasons of BBQ, that's how impressed they were with the whole thing. For a "Hollywood" party, I nailed it big time.
Here are a few pictures and video of the event.
